HENCH - THE TUBE

If Techno or D&B are'nt your bag, then why not mosey on down to The Tube for a spot of quality Dubstep from the legendary HENCH crew? Guests on the night include the mighty Luke Envoy and BUG favourite the man like Blazey.

FIVE ON ONE DVD LAUNCH - RED ROOMS

An honourable mention must go to the launch of new Bristol DVD magazine Five On One, who will be showing the first edition at the Red Rooms, followed by a bit of a knees-up with top local party boys Steve Redux, Olie Larner, Hyetal & Ruttler. This one is free entry so you've got no excuse.

BUCK 65 - THEKLA

Gig choice for the night would have to be BUCK 65 at The Thekla, a rare chance to see the man himself in action.

FRIDAY 21st MARCH

First up for all you lovers of quality electronic music out there you need to be considering Kingpin's first event of 2008 at The Warehouse, with a long-awaited live performance from The Black Dog alongside DJ sets from Dave Tarrida, as well as the Kingpin boys and a second room hosted by Bristol legends Ruffnek Diskotek. £8 adv, more on the door.

X-PRESS 2 - PLATFORM 1

INTRIGUE - DOJOS

D&B heads are well catered for tonight but pick of the bunch has to be Marcus Intalex returning to Intrigue - quality beats all night assured! £6 before 11, £7 after.

Local live music wise you could do well to check out the Ben Blackmore Quartet at Funk From The Trunk up at The Golden Lion, or perhaps Dr.Meaker at In Session at The Croft. If you fancy it a bit more retro then head down to the Hatchet for Gimmie Shelter! featuring a live show from The 45s who include a few members of local rising stars Fortune Drive.

Special mention too for new Bedminster venture The Spotted Cow which will be having it's grand opening on the night with music from local musical enthusiast Andy Payback Hi-Fi, 10pm-1am, a much needed quality pub in the Bemmie area.

SATURDAY 22nd MARCH

BUSS A SWEAT - THE CROFT

A huge line up for Blazey's debut night at The Croft, and if Grime, dubstep or Bassline is your bag then this is the only place to be - with Rossi B & Luca headlining, along with Double S doing a live PA, the remainder of the bill hosts some of Bristol's finest dubstep, grime and hip hop DJs. Not to be missed! £5 all night!

BREAK!! 2ND BIRTHDAY - CLOCKWORK

Alternatively, a little way down from The Croft you could try the very large line-up at soon to be closed Clockwork, from top Bristol crew Break!! featuring EZ Rollers, Cynatific and of all things, a Prodigy tribute band which should be interesting to say the least!! £8 adv.

MASH UP - THE BLACK SWAN

Stupidly big line up at The Black Swan and also a Bristol Festival fundraiser to boot. If you like it big, bashy and noisy then this is for you!! Only £5 before midnight and that has to be the biggest bargain of the weekend!!

Honourable mentions too for Peanut Butter Wolf at Native for Western Soul, Ruffnek Diskotek the mini version at Cosies, and some tasty Beef at Start The Bus with The Autokratz, with a pre-drink perhaps at Colours at The Bank.

Gig wise why not take in the suffocating misery of legendary grump Van Morrison at Colston Hall, maybe you can make him smile. It's probably sold out but you can hang around outside and do a little jig for him when he comes out.

SUNDAY 23rd MARCH

EMPATHY - NATIVE

Omid 16B makes a rare trip to Bristol for a set of his trademark lush housey doings. Support on the night from Jim Rivers, Stu Wilkinson and the Empathy Crew. £6 adv, £8 on the door.

DJ MARKY - THE THEKLA

Brazilian D&B don Marky is back for 360 at The Thekla, this is guaranteed to be a sell out so make sure you get your tickets! £10 adv, more on the door!

JUST JACK - TIMBUK2
Mike Monday headlining this one, assured to be a messy adventure if ever BUG saw one! £6 adv.

Followed straight after by DRAMA for the really hardcore, rolling on until 9am with a huge roster of local big cheeses including Steve Redux, Justin Gettings, The Blast DJs and many more.

If by now you've already broken yourself a few times over, then our advice is hit Papoose at The Bank for some relaxed fun times, purely medicinal booze and a nice roast.
Have fun!!
