Well it seems like an eternity but the Easter weekend is finally here and there's a hefty load of fun times on the horizon, and here's some juicy morsels fresh from the B365 inbox for your enjoyment.


This rather stern-looking gentleman is none other than Gecko of Kingpin infamy, one of the best and brightest club nights in Bristol for some time now. Gecko has been cultivating a production habit for a hot minute, and has very kindly donated up two tracks for your perusal: Aye Kalimba is a stipped down techno bubbler with flashes of melodic genius, whilst Cape McClear has the wonky vibe in abundance with skittering percussion and oscillating frequencies. Both have the hallmark of a sound rooted in the playful heyday of techno's early years - and all the better for it.

Another hotly-tipped producer making waves locally is the remarkably named Pip-Bwoy 3000 whose brand of jacking fidget funk has already been snapped up by record labels, so keep an eye out for release soon. B365 favourite Kallendar has been hard at work in the studio again, with another quality production in the guise of Lost Day, a cinematic downtempo joint that is proof again of this artist's growing confidence in his abilities. Don't sleep!

Meanwhile, Kallendar's partner in crime Jackov has made his first move into production with his first track The Plan, and for a debut it is startingly good. It's with a great deal of happiness that B365 sees two of it's favourite DJs take leaps and bounds into new sonic realms and long may it continue.

Entertainment this weekend is in abundance but for B365 the ever-reliable Triptic will be the place to be this Friday, with an exclusive techno set from the fast-rising superstar Jackmaster.



Saturday is all about the compact and bijou rave-up, and where better to get your freak on then the Tube with the finest in all things bass from Seasonfive?



Then on the Sunday its all aboard the good ship Thekla for some beautiful bassweight courtesy of The Blast and Ruffnek Diskotek. Enjoy the weekend!

CHILDREN OF THE CAN contains some eye-popping street candy as well as a fascinating journey through the changing attitudes and fortunes of what is still a much misunderstood art form. If you're still up for some club action despite the winter chill, credit crunch and general post-Xmas malaise, then BUG's recommendation for this weekend start with the formidable Season Five offering you a veritable sonic smorgasbord of up and coming Bristol dubstep talent, many of who have been featured on this here blog. Phaeleh and Hyetal you know will destroy this; but the remainder of the bill are hardly slouches when it comes to rocking a bassbin or two.

As for Friday get yourself up to Dojos for an all-night techno session for cheap as chips entry. Triptic was one of the stand-out nights in 2008 and the residents played an important part in shaping their direction, all of whom are quality DJs. Well worth a fiver we think.
